SUCCESSFUL HOLIDAY CAMPAIGN FOR THE STATE BANK AND THE FOOD BANK OF EASTERN MICHIGAN

January 24, 2018, Fenton, MI – The State Bank is proud to announce another successful year in their campaign to raise funds for the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. This year, the bank’s fourteen Genesee and Saginaw County branches participated in various fundraisers, including collecting donations from customers, candle and candy bar sales, and restaurant nights. The branches have friendly competitions to see who can raise the most funds for this great cause.

This year, the bank was proud to present the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan with a check for $25,000. In the 14-year partnership between the two organizations, The State Bank has contributed a total of $189,706 – or 1,138,236 meals – to fight hunger right here in the community.

“At The State Bank, we take great pride in giving back to the communities in which we serve and doing so through the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan is a great fit. The services they offer help combat one of the biggest problems we face in this area, and we are happy to do whatever we can to join in on that fight,” Ron Justice, President and CEO, The State Bank.

Kara Ross, Interim President of the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, adds “We are very thankful to have businesses like The State Bank who go out of their way to support the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan during the holiday season. The efforts of the employees and customers of The State Bank help families struggling with hunger put food on their tables. This years generous donation will provide 150,000 meals to food insecure individuals this year.”

The Holiday Campaign, through the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, began in 1994 and has raised $11.1 million since it’s inception.
