Fenton Athlete of the Week

Basketball - Taylor Mowrey scored 13 points, went 6-6 from the free throw line and had 10 rebounds for the week. She averaged 6.5 points and 5 rebounds in two key wins over Davison and Linden. Many people do not know that Taylor is deaf and she and her teammates communicate by signing. She also is an amazing lip reader and that too is a way that she communicates on the floor. To be able to perform at the level that she does is outstanding in its own right, but to be able to perform like she does when she cannot hear the whistle or cannot hear her teammates call screens or call when a shot is taken is incredible. She is an inspiration to her teammates, our coaching staff and many people in the community.
