In losses to league leaders Flushing and Linden, Parker tallied 18 points (his average) but grabbed 20 rebounds with 13 (career high) against Linden. He also helped our offense with 4 assists from his center position, 1 steal and 3 blocks
Playing in three games this week, Alec had a team high 14 against Clio with a perfect 3 for 3 from three point range with 3 rebounds. Against Owosso he only had 8 points on 2 triples, but played sparingly as the Tigers won easily. Against Holly he had 10 of the teams 28 points before leaving with an ankle injury which took him out for the remainder of the game. These are great offensive games for Alec because isn't the first offensive option
Josh had a great MISCA meet this weekend. He dropped 9 seconds in his 500 Freestyle to go 5:00.01, which qualified him for the State Finals.
Junior Jaidyn Rogers has competed in rounds 1, 2, and 3 all season. In addition to being a strong backspot in round 3, she also contributes to the team's tuck points to complete our choreography bonus. Jaidyn competed all three rounds flawlessly on Saturday at our home tournament, fighting through with a foot injury from the night before.
Freshman Trey Hale has been back in the Tigers line up for just 2 weeks now and has made an amazing impact. Last Saturday Trey won the 119 pound Metro League Championship getting 3 wins. Last Wednesday Trey bumped to 125 pounds and defeated Senior Jared Callahan of Holly giving the Tigers a lead going into the last match against Holly in the first round of team districts. At individual districts Trey recorded 3 first period pins to become the 119 pound district champion. In the championship match Trey pinned 4th ranked Cameron Macklem of Goodrich in the first period.
Sophomore Tate Temrowski Bowled Games of 186 and 203 in their match against Swartz Creek.
Freshman Nate Dymond bowled a 868 series at the Division 9 Singles tournament this past weekend.
Qualified for state in the 500 FR 4:57.74 and the 400 FR Relay this weekend at Metro League 3:23.04
Freshman Peyton Jackson bowled a split game of 140 helping to win the 1st Baker game in the Tigers contest with Owosso.
Junior Ashlyn Bristol won both her points in the Tigers match with Owosso with games of 126 and 138.
Korryn scored 14 points and had 6 rebounds in our win over Lapeer on Tuesday. She only played about six minutes before going down with an injury in our DeWitt game on Thursday, so her stats this week are only for one game. She finished the year as our leader in three point field goals made, second leading scorer and third leading rebounder and is just in her sophomore season. She continues to get better everyday and as the only non-senior in our starting line-up she is a big reason why we are 17-3.
I nominate Emily Allor, a sophomore at Fenton high school as athlete of the week. Even though Emily was suffering a knee sprain she worked diligently to rehab enough to compete and help her team at Regional competition! Emily was the top vaulter for her team earning her a 4th place spot and a chance to compete at State individuals. Her vault score helped her team to a 3rd place finish which gives them a spot to compete as a team for State finals.
Erin had a phenomenal week. She was instrumental in securing back to back wins against Clio and Flushing on Wednesday and Thursday, to help us clinch a share of the Metro league title for the first time since 2010. Against Clio Erin scored 13 points, had 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block and 1 steal. In the Flushing game, she had 5 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assists, 1 block and 4 steals.
Parker Bundy placed 12th in giant slalom on February, 13th at he MHSAA Division 1-Region 2 Championships at Pine Knob with a time of 40.37 seconds, and was 18th in slalom with a time of 46.83 seconds. Also this week, Parker Bundy place 6th in giant slalom at the Mt. Holly Divisional Championship on February, 14th with a time of 45.38 seconds, and was also 6th in in slalom with a time of 56.89 seconds, helping the Fenton-Linden-Lake Fenton boys place 2nd in the divisional, and advance to the South Eastern Michigan Ski League Championship on February, 18th at Pine Knob.
Lauren has been solid for us all season and helped us earn a non-league win over Goodrich on Tuesday by scoring 8 points and having 2 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal. She was also responsible for defending Goodrich’s leading scorer and kept her below her season point average. On Friday, Lauren helped us secure the outright Flint Metro League title with a win over Linden. She had 8 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal in that victory. Lauren is a huge reason why we were 15-1 in metro play and has been a great leader on and off the court.
Jack Killian took 5th place at the Regional this week and qualified for the State Finals.
Cassandra had a very impressive week. On Saturday April 6 at the Westfield All comers meet. Cassandra placed 1st broke her own 100m hurdle record with a lightening fast time of 14.88
Fenton-Linden Girls’ Lacrosse player, Lara Kemp scored 7 goals, had 2 assists, and 4 Draw Control Wins in a 19-3 victory over Waterford United on Tuesday.
Dylan was match medalist in our match against Lake Fenton on Wednesday shooting a 40 at Fenton Farms. On Friday Dylan shot a 78 to finish 4th individually in a 22 team tournament held at Metamora GC and led his team to a 3rd place finish.
Brandon Miller had very impressive day Friday at the Tri Country Invitational at Brandon High School. He was 2nd in the 100 m dash with an 11.78 and 1st in the 200 m dash with a 22.81. Brandon was also the anchor for both our 4 x 100 m relay which was 2nd with a 45.59 and the 4 x 200 m relay which was 1st with a 1:30.48.
Taylor had a very impressive first FML meet for her Freshman debut. She placed second in the 400m only by a photo finish and ran a personal best time of 1:02.4. She also placed 3rd in the 200m also running a PR time of 27.93 and then anchored the 4x400 relay.
Braden shot an 82 at the Metro league preseason tournament at Fenton Farms on Monday. Helping his team to a 1st place finish. He was second overall for individuals. On Tuesday in our match against Brandon he shot an impressive score 1 over par 37 on a very tough Coyote Preserve course. He was the match medalist and led his team to a victory over Brandon.
Alexa Keiser had a very big week. She helped the girls track team secure two more wins against Linden and Owosso by winning the 800 meter run with a time of 2:22 and the 1600m run with a time of 5:26. Alexa also won the 3200 meter run this past Saturday at the Brighton Bulldogs Invitational with a time of 10:59.62
Lauren had 3 goals and 2 assists vs Owosso and the first goal vs Linden.
Noah had a very good week. On Wednesday in our dual with Holly/Kearsley he won the 100 m dash(11.73), 2nd in 400 m dash(50.37) and helped the 4x400 m relay win. On Friday at the Golden Triangle meet in Saline he took 4th in 200 m dash(22.97PR) and was on 3 relays which all medaled. The SMR 5th, 4 x 400 m relay 8th, and the 4 x 200 m relay 1st and breaking the school record and ranked #2 in the state with a 1:29.08.
Minna Ramirez, Fenton-Linden Girls Lacrosse, had 5 goals and 5 draw controls in 16-2 victory over Swartz Creek, 2 goals and 2 draw controls in an 11-1 victory over Davison and 3 goals and 4 draw controls in a 9-7 victory over Oxford. Total of 10 goals and 11 draw controls in 3 victories.
Kirty had a goal and an assist in a win and tie this week for Fenton. She has also been our strongest defender all year.
Erin carter our hottest hitter in the line up in 4 games went 8-10 with 11 RBI's and 3 HR including a Grand Slam, a triple, 4 BB. Erin assisted her team to keep in the hunt for Metro league by making 16 defensive put outs or assists on Defense.
Kara had a great night vs Clio and Brandon. She won 6-1, 6-0 vs Clio And won 6-2, 6-0 vs Brandon. Both schools of course are in our metro league.
Fenton-Linden Girls Varsity Lacrosse Goalkeeper, Kyle Bliss played an important part in the team's 2 wins and 1 loss. Kyle stopped 7/10 vs Holly-Brandon (16-3 win), 7/11 vs Flushing (15-5 win) and was exceptional in the 19-6 loss to Midland United where she stopped 24/43. Combined saves/shots was 38/64 (.594).
Sarah played an important part in all 3 wins of the week by scoring 10 goals and 3 assists. Against LF/Goodrich 3/2, Swartz Creek 4/0 and Holly-Brandon 3/1.
Justin won the high jump at regional on Friday at Milford with a jump of 6'4". Justin is the only freshmen qualified for state in this event in division 1.
Callie scored both of the TIgers goals in their loss to Grand Blanc.
Hanna Chapin brought home her first ever 1st place regional championship in the pole vault at the MHSAA Division 1 Regional Track meet in Milford on Friday Night. She soared to a height of 10 feet 6 inches, qualifying her for the D1 state finals on June 1st. Her 10 points helped the Lady Tigers place 3rd overall in a field of 16 schools.
The boys relay finished off an incredible season at the D1 state meet with a 2nd place finish. They broke the school record with a tme of 1:27.72. That's the third time this year that they broke the school record and they also broke the league record at the league meet this season.
